Portuguese return to Warwick Street church

The Assumption in Warwick Street, now in the hands of the Ordinariate, is attempting to restore its Portuguese link.

The first church on the site was a chapel built in 1740 for the Portuguese embassy in Golden Square behind.

Next Sunday 15 June the Portuguese ambassador is to attend Trinity Sunday Mass at 10.30am. His Excellency João de Vallera will be joined by other representatives of London’s Portuguese community in London.
